Cove, initially known as "Forest Cove", is a jewel nestled at the base of 7,132 foot Mount Fanny. Though small in population, Cove is rich in history and beauty. Mount Fanny rises majestically just outside most residents' back doors. Mt. Fanny was named for Fannie Cowles, whose family settled the spot in 1862, and who was the first white woman to climb the mountain. Heavily forested, green in summer, gold with flaming tamaracks in fall, snow-covered in winter, the mountain provides a spectacular setting for the hillside community.

Cove was once a booming town with all of the amenities of a larger city including a bank, drug store and general store. A railroad at one time passed through the agricultural community. Well known for its cherry orchards that still dot the sloping terrain, Cove is an area rich in fertile land. The friendly community provides an alternative for those who enjoy life in a less crowded, more pastoral setting.

Cove is home to a hot springs swimming pool widely used during the summer months by county residents and visitors. Two church camps provide rustic or full amenity facilities for gatherings of up to two hundred people.
